MP

Choosing the subject, for this year's Archibald Prize was not difficult. Robert knew it had to be someone he had the greatest respect for. After, meeting The Hon. Darren Chester MP, Federal Minster of Veteran Affairs in Canberra last year, he felt Mr Chester was the right person. Mr Chester is very passionate about the welfare of veteran soldiers and their families. This came across when Robert and the Mayor of Strathbogie campaigned for funding to open a Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Well-being centre in Echuca, for not only soldiers but also for those from the emergency services suffering with PTSD, after their service to the community.

Robert was not the only one delighted with Rob's choice, Mr Chester was thrilled to be asked to part of the prestige Archibald Prize event. The sitting took place in Mr Chester's constituent in Sale, early July 2020. The discussed why Mr Chester went into politics and how Robert became an artist. After the event, the painting will be given to Mr Chester, to be hung in his office, for all his staff, family and local constituents to enjoy.
